Job role – Scientist, Multispecific Antibody Engineering
Summary Of The Group
Biologics Engineering is responsible for the discovery, design, engineering, and optimization of next-generation biologics to create biological drug candidates against diseases with improved safety and efficacy. The Multispecific Antibody Engineering Team designs, engineers, and optimizes complex therapeutics and collaborates broadly across the AZ Research organization. We’re pushing the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines to patients, with a passion for the development of novel drug modalities to address unmet medical needs.
What you’ll do: Biotechnology Scientist jobs
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated scientist to enhance our multispecific antibody platform technologies. The successful candidate will be excited by research at the interface where innovative science and technology meet biology.
- Conceive, design, and engineer innovative multispecific antibodies for both therapeutic and technology-development programs
- Collaborate and work with a diverse group of scientists across all therapeutic areas to ensure timely progress in research projects and drive technological innovations
- Biochemical, biophysical, and functional characterization of antibodies and multispecific modalities
- Assess and report data in a clear and concise manner with a fundamental understanding of its implications within the overall context of drug discovery
- Prepare, analyze, and present data internally and externally as well as contribute to scientific publication goals
Education & Experience Requirements
BS or MS in Chemical or Biological Engineering, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or other relevant scientific field with 2+ years of relevant experience in antibody/protein engineering
Required Skills
- Experience in molecular biology, including molecular cloning and biochemical assays
- Experience in protein expression and purification techniques or functional cell-based assay development/deployment.
- Experience with antibody/protein characterization and analytical assays
- Understanding of basic principles of antibody/protein engineering
- Track record of strong problem-solving and organizational skills, orientation to detail.
Desired Skills – Biotechnology Scientist jobs
- Experience in the design and engineering of bispecific antibodies
- Deep understanding of various imaging/multicolor flow cytometry-based instruments and data analysis programs
- Understanding of protein and/or antibody structure-function relationships
- Strong communication skills and effective presentation of complex scientific data to cross-functional and senior management.
- Experience in engineering antibodies with improved properties (e.g., affinity, solubility, and other attributes related to developability)
