Job Title: Scientist III, Global MSAT-222213
Primary Location – Americas-US-GA-Athens
This is a multi-level posting. Candidates will be hired in at the level based on education, experience and business need.
Performs customary scientific/lab duties without supervision. Designs and executes non-routine MSAT experiments with minimal supervision and in accordance with applicable regulations to include development, planning, optimization, execution and validation of analytical methods. Supports method development and method transfer activities into a GLP lab environment.
Part of core MSAT BioAnalytics scientific team. Support experimentation to improve measurement robustness, variability reduction, and accuracy. May assist in training/instructing junior scientists.
Scientist II Requirements:
- Masters degree from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological sciences preferred) with a minimum of one (1) year direct industry experience; Or
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a scientific discipline (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological sciences preferred) with a minimum of three (3) years of direct industry experience
- Expertise in novel technologies or sciences is an advantage
- Working knowledge and basic theoretical understanding of scientific principles (e.g. microbiology, biological chemistry, biochemistry)
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment, product formulation and analytical testing methodologies of pharmaceutical or biological products
- Comprehension of Pharmaceutical Quality System within BIAH
- Comprehension of Good Laboratory and Manufacturing Practice (GLP/GMP) regulations and other applicable regulations
- Written and verbal communications of technical information
- Basic knowledge of new product development & product lifecycle management processes
- Intense willingness to develop technical expertise at bench and production scale
- Strong interest for international/intercultural collaboration
- Ability to adapt communications and truly engage with diverse audience
- Ability to communicate in English required – additional language skills are an asset
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design, Schedule, Execute and Write protocols, conduct experiments and generation of reports for studies and treat all data with a high level of integrity and ethics. Must be capable of utilizing Statistical software. Remain compliant with documentation guidelines and current SOP’s related to experimentation, reporting data, and training of relevant team members.
- With direction, leads transfer of methods from MSAT BioAnalytics to QC and/or operations in the development, optimization, and validation of analytical methods. Assist in Leading development and optimization efforts method development for immunoassay analytical methods (such as ELISA).
- With direction, lead efforts to acquire and test key components and reagents for immunoassay analytical methods and vaccine formulation.
- Lead the setting up, operation, and validation of new instruments. Ensures maintenance of instrumentation in order to maintain operation. Must be capable of working with vendors and engineering to secure resources to evaluate instruments or equipment and represent the MSAT BioAnalytics team.
