Description

Bongards’ Creameries is seeking a dedicated, cheese-loving individual to be a Management Intern at our Humboldt Plant in Humboldt, TN or at our Central Plant in Bongards (Norwood Young America), MN.

Job Duties 

  • Develop basic managerial knowledge and experience across different areas within Bongards over the course of 90-120 days.  Learning areas will include:
    • Technical Services: to learn daily recipe-to-floor processes and cheese planning processes.
    • Quality: to learn how to use all our equipment and testing systems to verify our cheese is always the highest quality. Quality area will include learning about our environmental program as well.
    • Production: to develop understanding in how to run our slice, loaf, and bulk lines.  Production area also includes understanding flow charts, our SOP’s, and our sanitation processes.
    • Warehouse: will train our individual how to understand our job closing processes, barcoding, and general logistical timeframes and strategies.
    • Regulatory: will help the trainee understand how USDA, State, FDA, OSHA and other government agencies play into our business.
    • Other: to include production areas not addressed specifically.
  • To fill in for Production Team Leads for absences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently studying to acquire a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college/university in the area of Dairy/Food Science, Dairy Manufacturing, Engineering or another appropriate degree.
  • Schedule flexibility due to the varying nature of functional areas and tasks.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently on assigned duties
