Vacancy Overview
The Quality Control Scientist – Microbiology will support the activities of the CGT Catapult Braintree’s GMP Quality Control Laboratories and associated infrastructure. Reporting to the Quality Control Lead – Microbiology, the Quality Control Scientist – Microbiology will help ensure that the CGT Catapult Braintree Manufacturing Innovation Centre meets the standards and expectations of its key stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and potential collaborators/external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
Conduct Laboratory Analysis
- Conduct laboratory analysis and result reporting for various testing requirements.
- Collaborate with other QC personnel, QA, suppliers, and service providers to maintain GMP compliant services.
Sample Management & LIMS Management
- Participate in sample collection, transportation, and storage management.
- Support the implementation and operation of a LIMS system.
Microbiology
- Provide expertise, guidance, and support in microbiology testing and qualifications.
- Participate in microbiology-related training and process qualifications.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards.
- Generate and review cGMP documentation.
Experience
Experience in microbiology or bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is required. Proven experience in GMP document writing and reviewing is essential.
Knowledge / Skills / Competencies

Education / Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related discipline is required. Membership in a recognized professional body is desirable.
