About the Role:
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer worldwide, accounting for approximately 10% of cancer deaths. This Open Targets project focuses on examining the interplay between immune cells, cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs), and malignant cells using advanced sequencing techniques on patient samples.
Responsibilities:
- Perform single-cell RNA sequencing techniques on patient samples
- Prepare samples for novel sequencing techniques
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners
- Contribute to the smooth running of the research laboratory
About You:
We are looking for a candidate with an interest in cancer biology, single-cell RNA sequencing, and experience with molecular biology techniques. The ideal candidate should be able to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Essential Skills:
- Master’s degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent
- Relevant post-graduate experience
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with human tissue samples and core molecular biology techniques
Other Information:
Salary per annum: (£40,523 – £48,629) dependent on skills and experience
Contract: 3 years
