Clinical Research Associate Job Description
Clinical Research Associate responsibilities involve supporting AstraZeneca’s Oncology Cell Therapy Clinical Operations by ensuring the successful delivery of clinical studies at assigned sites. The Clinical Research Associate serves as the primary contact for investigators and site staff while collaborating closely with Local Study Teams and the Local Study Associate Director (LSAD).
The role focuses on maintaining compliance with ICH-GCP guidelines, local regulations, and AstraZeneca procedures while ensuring inspection readiness and high-quality data collection throughout clinical trials.
Qualifications
Clinical Research Associate Job candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
- Excellent knowledge of ICH-GCP and local regulations.
- Basic understanding of GMP/GDP requirements.
- Experience in clinical study management, monitoring, and data management.
- Familiarity with risk-based and remote monitoring approaches.
- Proficiency with CTMS, eTMF, EDC, and other clinical systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel as required.
- Oncology or cell therapy experience is preferred.
- Experience with audits, inspections, and process improvement is an advantage.
Clinical Research Associate Job – Key Responsibilities
Clinical Research Associate role duties include contributing to investigator and site selection activities.
- Support site selection, start-up, and regulatory submissions.
- Train investigators and site staff on study protocols and ICH-GCP requirements.
- Conduct site initiation, monitoring (onsite/remote), and close-out visits.
- Perform SDR, SDV, CRF reviews, and support data quality activities.
- Ensure timely SAE reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain CTMS, eTMF, study documentation, and drug accountability records.
- Prepare monitoring reports and support audit/inspection readiness.
- Collaborate with local and global study teams to ensure successful trial delivery.
