Clinical Research Job Description
Clinical research role responsibilities include supporting the Young Stroke Service Deep Phenotyping Project by coordinating participant recruitment, conducting clinical assessments, collecting biological samples, managing research data, and assisting with study coordination. Working alongside Professor Vincent Thijs and a multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Research Assistant will contribute to stroke and neuroscience research while ensuring compliance with clinical research standards.
Qualifications
Clinical research job applicants should possess the following qualifications.
EssentialÂ
- Degree in Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Experience in clinical research, health research, or clinical trial environments.
- Laboratory sample processing experience, including centrifugation and specimen handling.
- Experience working directly with patients or research participants.
- Knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and clinical research requirements.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and data management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
- Phlebotomy certification or willingness to obtain training.
- Experience working with stroke patients or individuals with chronic health conditions.
- Experience using REDCap or clinical research databases.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical research job duties include:
- Coordinate participant screening, recruitment, and informed consent.
- Conduct participant assessments both in person and through telehealth.
- Collect, process, and coordinate transport of biological samples including blood, saliva, hair, and urine.
- Extract and manage research data from medical records and research databases.
- Set up participant monitoring devices and educate participants on their use.
- Monitor study databases and maintain accurate research documentation.
- Assist with adverse event reporting and study documentation.
- Support scientific publications, grant applications, presentations, and project communications.
