Position Overview:
The Coca-Colaโs Summer Internship program is a 10-week experience at our headquarters in Atlanta, GA. The GDI Microbiology Intern will be part of our North America R&D Center, working on projects that include microbiological lab activities to support our innovation initiatives. These projects will involve working with carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, rapid microbiological methods, and the development of models that predict behavior of microorganisms in beverage matrices.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
- Predictive modeling and determination of cardinal values of spoilage organism growth in high acid beverages.
- Exploring the microbiological sensitivity of different juice ingredients used in similar beverage formulations.
- Learn about the micro hazards in formulated acid/high acid and acidified beverages.
- Learn different manufacturing processes used at the industrial scale including thermal and non-thermal processes to produce beverages.
Education Requirements:
Currently pursuing a bachelorโs in food science, Food Microbiology, Food Safety Microbiology, Food Engineering, or equivalent fields not graduating before December 2025.
