Eligibility Criteria
- Preferred Majors: Biological Process, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical or Food Process Engineering
- Must have at least one semester of school remaining after internship
- A basic understanding in science (biology, chemistry or food technology/engineering) to apply skills to support bench top/lab testing under the supervision of a professional.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future and must be authorized to work in the United States
What Can You Expect from Your Internship?
Your internship will be a 5-6 months-long immersion into Conagra Brands at our Oakdale Manufacturing facility. The Processing Intern will provide hands-on technical support to Oakdale Operations and Corporate R&D. Under the supervision of a technical staff member, the intern will perform project assignments in support of data collection, analysis, compile summary reports.
The Processing Intern will be a contributing member of a team that brings together leading-edge technical knowledge to spur the development of new products and processes. He or she will gain insight to the industry while assisting Professionals in studies and projects.
Schedule: May-August: Available to work 8-10 hrs/day, Mon-Sat (Occasional Sunday)
August-November: Available at least 10-20 hrs/wk, Mon-Sat (Occasional Sunday) but can accommodate full-time offers if the candidate is available

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead data collection and analysis for a plant study at the Oakdale manufacturing site.
Support other plant studies focusing on continuous improvement and yield improvements. - Research, evaluate, recommend, and document solutions to operational and equipment issues
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering to provide sustainable solutions to daily issues
- Read and understand engineering and equipment documentation
- Exposure and training on manufacturing equipment including:
- Optical Sorters
- Steam Peelers
- Canning equipment
- Working with a variety of functions at the manufacturing site including:
- Agriculture Operations
- Finance
- Quality
- Sanitation
- Continuous Improvement
- Follow all employee safety and food safety policies and practices
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
