CRA Job Description

CRA job opportunities at AstraZeneca involve supporting high-quality, patient-centric clinical trials across BioPharma and Oncology portfolios. Clinical Research Associates play a critical role in site activation, monitoring activities, patient safety oversight, and data integrity management.

As a Clinical Research Associate, you will collaborate with investigators and study teams, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, support inspection readiness, and contribute to the successful delivery of clinical trials that bring innovative therapies to patients worldwide. Qualifications

CRA job candidates should possess strong clinical research knowledge and experience in site management and monitoring.

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of drug development, ICH-GCP, and applicable regulations.
  • Experience in site selection, activation, and monitoring.
  • Ability to conduct remote and onsite monitoring visits.
  • Proficiency with CTMS, eTMF, SDR, SDV, CRF review, and data query management.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in CVRM or Respiratory & Immunology clinical trials.
  • Experience with multi-country studies and RbQM tools.
  • Proven ability to accelerate study start-up and site activation.
  • Experience supporting audits and inspections.
  • Familiarity with remote monitoring, eSource, and ePRO technologies.

CRA Job – Key Responsibilities

CRA job responsibilities include managing clinical trial sites and ensuring study compliance throughout the research lifecycle.

  • Identify and activate research sites and investigators.
  • Support site enrolment, performance, and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain study approvals, documentation, and inspection readiness.
  • Train site staff on ICH-GCP and Risk-based Quality Management (RbQM).
  • Conduct remote and onsite monitoring visits, including SDR, SDV, and CRF reviews.
  • Manage data queries, site performance, and risk-based monitoring activities.
  • Ensure timely SAE reporting and resolution of quality issues.
  • Maintain CTMS and eTMF systems and oversee study drug accountability.
  • Prepare monitoring reports and support audit and inspection readiness.
