About the Role
We are in search of a passionate Data Scientist to support Sapient’s biomarker discovery service offerings and R&D efforts with insights gained from analyzing clinical and multi-omics data.
Responsibilities
- Define project and product-based problems, develop action plans to solve them, and synthesize solutions.
- Independently analyze datasets, mine databases, and create code to optimize and improve projects.
- Solve unstructured problems and provide reports on solutions to management.
- Apply statistical and machine learning methods to derive insights from omics and clinical data.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate scientific and medical problems.
- Communicate methods used, data insights, and scientific findings to collaborators and clients.
What we’re looking for
- Deep knowledge of statistical methods and basic machine learning algorithms.
- Life science domain knowledge and intuition in applying data analysis approaches.
- Experience in clinical or epidemiological study data analysis preferred.
- Proficiency in Python or R, database query language, and cloud computing preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings effectively.
- Self-motivated, dedicated, and accountable team player.
- Curious and eager to grow in a challenging environment.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field.
- +3 years of statistical analysis and data mining experience.
- +1 year of industry experience.
- Great team player.
Position Location: San Diego, California (Sorrento Valley)
Position Type: Full-time, on-site or hybrid
Compensation Range: $100K-$150K
