Job Title: Food Microbiologist (Entry Level)
Location: Horsham, PA
Hours/Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Type: 6 Months Contract to Direct Hire
Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, and purified water.
- Ensure all testing adheres to cGMPs and company SOPs, documenting all data accordingly.
- Perform plate reading and result calculations for laboratory samples.
- Assist in method suitability testing for new products.
- Maintain knowledge of lab test methodologies including USP <60>, <61>, <62>, and <51>.
- Document equipment performance data to ensure operational compliance.
- Enter data into LIMS for sample tracking and reporting.
- Maintain lab cleanliness and inventory.
- Plan and schedule daily workload effectively.
- Foster a cohesive team environment.
- Be available for overtime, weekend, and holiday schedules as needed.
- Fulfill other duties assigned by the laboratory supervisor/manager.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in life science or other related degree.
- Ability to learn new techniques and follow written procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to be flexible with schedule and work overtime as needed.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift approximately 30 lbs.
