The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant specializing in Antibody Generation to join our dynamic team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have a background in Lifesciences with hands-on experience in antibody generation and characterization techniques. This role involves conducting research on therapeutic antibody discovery projects, with a focus on antibody hit identification, characterisation, and optimisation.
How you’ll spend your day
- Assist in the design, planning, and execution of research projects focused on antibody generation.
- Prepare samples and conduct experiments using techniques such as surface plasmon resonance, ELISA, and flow cytometry.
- Expression and screening of antibodies
- General tissue culture and maintenance of mammalian cell lines
- General molecular biology techniques (e.g. PCR, DNA purification and analysis, DNA cloning)
- Collect, analyse, and interpret experimental data, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, protocols, and results.
- Collaborate with senior researchers and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Contribute to the preparation of research reports, publications, and presentations.
- Stay current with the latest scientific advancements and techniques in antibody generation and immunology.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Your experience and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences with honours.
- Experience with recombinant protein expression, purification, and quality assessment.
- Experience in antibody generation and characterization techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using laboratory instruments and software for data analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
