Flow Cytometry Technologist Job Description
Labcorp is seeking a Flow Cytometry Technologist to join their team in Seattle, WA. This position involves determining the acceptability of specimens, performing routine and complex technical procedures, and ensuring the proper functionality of instrumentation. The technologist will also prepare and evaluate new reagents, report test results, and maintain a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
- Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
Flow Cytometry Technologist Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or Medical Technology.
- ASCP or AMT certification.
- 1 year or more of recent Hematology experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more of recent Flow Cytometry experience.

- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
Pay Range: $34.25 – $52.14 per hour
All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21.
