Genus PLC Internship: Job Description

The Genetic Data Applications Intern will support the Dairy Product Development Team by working on the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of applications, programs, and data pipelines. This genetic data internship offers a unique opportunity to engage with PhD geneticists and data professionals, providing critical insights across the dairy business. Interns will gain exposure to real-world business challenges, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.

Eligibility for This Genetic Data Internship

  • MS or PhD student in Animal Science, Plant Science, Quantitative Genetics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Current internship experience as a MS or PhD student.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use various statistical and analytic tools to complete data mining, data pipeline development, and data analysis.
  • Conduct experiment design and/or investigate new models and methods.
  • Generate information to inform genetic strategies, genetic program development, and custom genetic indices in support of advances within the ABS proprietary genetic program.
  • Uphold the Genus core values, mission, and vision.
  • Position may require working outside of normal business hours.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
