Job Description
The Graduate Scientist will join the In Vitro DMPK Assay group at the Hoddesdon site, supporting Discovery ADME screening through to early development, including studies associated with ICHM12. In this role, the scientist will collaborate with colleagues to create in vitro DMPK laboratory solutions, ensuring that appropriate experimental methods are followed to enable project success.
Graduate Scientist Jobs – Key Responsibilities
- Follow and understand in vitro DMPK laboratory methods to answer project questions.
- Effectively collaborate as part of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver agreed project requirements.
- Contribute data and laboratory skills under the guidance and mentorship of senior staff.
- Report and document results of experiments in line with department practices and governing policies, including reporting to support IND applications.
- Act as a system owner of equipment and instrumentation if required.
- Implement and adopt key internal business practices and applicable external regulations (e.g., Human Tissue Act).
- Support and positively contribute to departmental or site audits as directed by scientific supervisors or Line Managers.
Eligibility Criteria Required For Graduate Scientist Jobs
- Essential:
- MSc or BSc in Biochemistry, Biology, or a relevant subject.
- Practical laboratory experience gained during studies or an industrial placement is desirable.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary scientific teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Desirable:
- Understanding of enzyme kinetics.
- Experience with liquid handling systems.
- Cell culture skills, including both immortalized and primary cells.
- Understanding of physicochemical properties of molecules.
- Molecular Biology skills.
