Job Title: Expert Scientist: Immunologist, In Vitro Models

Eligibility Criteria:
- PhD degree in life sciences with 2+ years of experience in immunology OR a Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience in immunology
- Experience in the fields of immunology, cellular biology and MPS
- Experience in approaches used to monitor the activation of innate and adaptive immune pathways
- Experience with the implementation of MPS to recapitulate human responses
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Basic skills in statistical analysis
- Strong track record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals or other demonstrations of scientific success
- Fluency in English, spoken and written
- Prior experience with the analysis of human biological samples and knowledge of the HBS specific precautions.
- Experience in lymph node models for evaluation of vaccine response
- Experience in assay qualification and validation.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following…
- Provide expertise in the areas of immune response to vaccines, in particular the role of dendritic cells in antibody responses, and development of assays to evaluate those responses.
- Set up in house complex microphysiological systems (MPS) containing multiple cell types, including immune cells
- Perform multiple immunology assays including FACS, ELISA, and Luminex
- Provide immunological analytical expertise to GSK vaccine projects
- Write protocols, procedures and work instructions to support immunology assays.
- Independently write specific technical sections of internal and external reports and contribute to scientific papers
- Provide effective and inspiring leadership with an enterprise mindset, ensuring immunological support to teammates
- Provide strong immunological contributions to enable collaboration with key scientific stakeholders internally and externally.
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and support patent filings
- Willingness to train students and/or junior lab personnel as needed
- Ability to clearly communicate research findings to leadership and junior team members, both orally and in writing
- Cheerfully collaborate with internal and external team members
