Job Posting: Scientist, Preclinical Molecular Biology – MAPS Vaccine Platform
Location:Â Binney Street, Cambridge, MA
Job Type:Â Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in design of fusion protein expression constructs, cloning, and testing for expression
- Design and execute functional assays to evaluate the protein antigens of MAPS vaccine candidates in preclinical studies
- Work collaboratively with the MAPS vaccine discovery and development teams execute experiments to support candidate selection and optimization
- Analyze and interpret data, and present results to internal stakeholders
- Maintain a high level of scientific rigor and integrity in experimental design, data analysis, and documentation
- Keep up to date with advances in the field of vaccine development and immunology
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in molecular biology or a related field, with at least (Bachelor’s 4, MS 2, PhD 0) years of laboratory experience
- One or more years of experience with cloning and sequencing. Whole genome analysis a plus
- One or more years of experience with immunoassays such as BLI, ELISA, and immunoblots
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with protein expression, Coomassie gels, and protein concentration assays. Protein purification experience a plus
- Interest in vaccines, especially the MAPS vaccine platform, or related technologies is highly desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw conclusions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present scientific findings to internal stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative matrix team environment
