Job Overview
The Edwards Lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology at Georgetown University Medical Center invites applications for a Bioinformatics Programmer in an entry-level role. This position offers the opportunity to work on glycoinformatics and glycoproteomics projects for an NIH-funded glycoscience portal in a highly collaborative environment.
Work Interaction and Work Mode Designation
The Bioinformatics Programmer will report directly to Dr. Edwards. This position has been designated as On-Campus. More information on work mode designations for staff positions can be found on the Georgetown University Department of Human Resources website. A hybrid work schedule may be negotiated.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in research bioinformatics and/or computational biology projects
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, Java, and/or JavaScript
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in glycoinformatics, mass spectrometry, proteomics, and glycoproteomics data analysis
- Technical skills in high-performance and cloud computing
- Strong motivation and ability to work independently
The expected pay range for this position is $47,586 to $65,000 per annum.
