Job Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Entry level, 0-1 years industry experience, including internships
• BS Degree, Food Science or related degree
• Good communication, verbal and written
• Good project management skills
• Collaborative interpersonal skills
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• 1- 2 years work experience in industrial food, pharmaceutical, ingredients or flavor industry
• Knowledge in food safety, raw materials, food regulations, sanitation and production process
Working Conditions
Work will be performed in a lab environment in an office setting. Some work may be performed in a plant environment and require travel up to 30%. Plant environment may range from negative seventy-six (-76) degrees to eighty-five (85) degrees Fahrenheit and require heavy lifting up to 50lbs. Conditions may be wet, slippery, humid, and dusty.
Job Description
In this role, you will assist on beverage projects by providing the highest quality beverage applications to IFF’s customers. You will collaborate with Sales, Category Marketing, Product Experience, Regulatory, Innovation and Creation to drive category strategies and customer initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this position successfully, the candidate should be able to perform the following tasks including, but not limited to:
• Work on assigned tasks under guidance to produce acceptable applications with basic knowledge of flavors, ingredients, and customer formulations
• Use creative skills to develop relevant new concepts
• Develop work plans to manage a part of a project
• Operate and maintain lab & pilot plant equipment
• Participate in customer account development and relations through sales calls and project execution
• Stay abreast of the constantly evolving knowledge of ingredients, customer bases, processes & flavor interactions in beverage applications
• Assist on technical projects from experimental design to completion, including testing, analytical procedures, equipment set-up and preparation of materials
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in their area of jurisdiction
