Position Summary:
Illumina is seeking a Scientist 1 to join the Microarray Application and System Integration team. This role involves contributing to the development of new technologies and workflows for Illumina customers. As part of a collaborative team, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments to support assay and workflow development.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and characterize experimental results by key performance metrics
- Understand in-house analysis tools and statistical software
- Maintain excellent documentation for tracking and sharing with the team
- Optimize experiment and data analysis workflows
- Participate in team meetings and initiatives
- Present experimental data clearly and concisely
- Design and execute experiments under general direction
- Assess data sufficiency and completeness of results
- Conduct troubleshooting events as needed
- Other duties assigned by management
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, or related fields
- 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience and/or data analysis experience
- Good knowledge in genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology
- Skilled in molecular biology techniques, assays, and protocols
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Collaborative and strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Desired Experiences:
- Experience with Illumina microarray platform assay and data analysis
- Experience with enterprise documentation or product lifecycle management systems
