Job Summary
Serve as research technician for conducting basic to moderately complex molecular biology assays to support pre-clinical safety and toxicity studies. Perform DNA/RNA purification and quantitation, qPCR, qRT-PCR, etc., in compliance with SOPs and GLP regulations. Work with scientific staff to develop new methods and conduct assay validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA purification, quantitate DNA/RNA, and set up qPCR/qRT-PCR/dd-RT-PCR reactions with supervision.
- Assist in sample analysis and preparation of study data tables.
- Collaborate with scientific staff on method development and validation experiments.
- Maintain study notebooks and ensure timely submission for audit.
- Review peer documentation for quality control.
- Prepare responses to internal Quality Assurance audits.
- Conduct laboratory procedures and document research data following GLPs, SOPs, and company policies.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Keep work areas clean.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position is between $25.00 and $26.00 per hour. Salaries may vary within the range based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorโs degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in life sciences or related discipline required.
- Experience: Zero to two years related experience in biology, chemistry/pharmacy in a contract lab or similar environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- Certification/Licensure: None required.
- Other: Ability to perform standard laboratory calculations, knowledge of GLPs and federal regulations, effective team member, accurate data recording, good communication skills.
