Job Description

IFF is seeking a highly motivated Lab. Technician to work in the biocatalysis group in our Benicarló facility. The successful candidate will conduct research through the use of biocatalysis applied for the synthesis of IFF fragrance ingredients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct experimental work focused on enzymatic transformations for the synthesis of fragrance ingredients.
- Setup and operate from microscale to liter scale biocatalytic reactions.
- Instrumental analysis for biocatalytic reactions and their end-products using tools such as HPLC, GC, MS, UV-Vis, and NMR.
- Generate and effectively communicate data.
- Maintain a safe and clean research environment.
- Participate in common tasks related to laboratory maintenance (ensure stocks, laboratory material availability, maintenance of equipment).
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Vocational training in chemistry laboratory.
- B.S. or M.S. in biochemistry or chemistry or related field is preferred.
- Working experience in industrial or academic labs is preferred (>1 year).
- Demonstrated knowledge of organic chemistry or biochemistry is required by manipulation and use of laboratory setups and regular use of analytical techniques.
- Demonstrated experience in separation and purification technologies.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to adhere to protocols.
- Highly motivated and organized.

- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and collaborative skills.
