Job Description
The Role:
Moderna’s Rare Diseases (RD) department is seeking a talented and motivated intern to join our team in support of developing new mRNA-based therapies. This is an exciting opportunity to help develop first-in-class therapeutics for patients in need, with lots of room for learning and growth. The intern will work on an individual project that is important to Moderna’s Rare Diseases Discovery and Development mission with support from an experienced mentor who will provide guidance on projects and a career.
Your Responsibilities:
- Help develop, optimize and validate cell-based assays to evaluate various mRNA therapeutics
- Collaborate with internal teams on initial testing of mRNAs
- Collect, archive, organize and analyze samples
- Execute and troubleshoot standard protocols
- Analyze, interpret and present data
- Contribute to reports and presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a life science program
- Fundamental knowledge and experience with wet lab techniques
- Strong knowledge/experience in specific areas such as cell-based assays, protein quantification techniques, RNA purification, etc.
- Capability to anticipate and recognize potential issues within experimental designs
- Legal authorization to work in the US
