Position Summary:
The Research and Development Department at Labcorp is seeking a Sr. Research Associate to join the DNA Identification team. This role involves developing and optimizing DNA testing procedures for various assays, including HLA testing. Key responsibilities include assay development, validation, implementation, and troubleshooting using techniques such as Next Generation Sequencing and Sanger sequencing.
Candidate Requirements:
- Prior experience in molecular techniques like DNA isolation, PCR, and Next Generation Sequencing
- Familiarity with validation and implementation in a CAP/CLIA Laboratory
- Capability in assay design and performance optimization
- Strong SOP development and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage projects from inception to completion
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent research and develop products
- Write SOPs and validations
- Collaborate with scientific staff and present findings
- Analyze results, troubleshoot experiments, and write reports
- Coach laboratory staff on new procedures
Education:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of R&D experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of R&D experience required.
