- Shift Schedule: Wednesday to Saturday, 3:45 PM – 2:15 AM (4×10)
Position Summary:
The QC Technologist II works in a cGMP environment performing quality control testing for commercial and diagnostic products. This role involves testing reagents, IVD materials, and personnel swabs, as well as collaborating with the Manufacturing, Technology Transfer, and other departments for data collection and validation during new product QC qualifications.
Key responsibilities include organizing quality-controlled materials for QC testing, adopting new laboratory techniques or workflows for new product lines, and maintaining accurate quality documentation such as Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Temporary Change Orders (TCOs).
This position also supports software-assisted product releases (e.g., Pouch QC Web releases) and performs various scientific techniques including spectrophotometry, PCR, and pipetting in a laboratory environment.
Primary Duties of Life Science Jobs at BioMérieux:
- Perform all work in compliance with company policy and the BioFire Diagnostics Quality System.
- Conduct quality control testing on incoming reagents used in Film Array.
- Maintain laboratory supplies and coordinate equipment repairs.
- Support other projects or validations from various departments as needed.
- Learn new techniques and workflows required for new product lines.
- Manage personnel swab setup and reporting.
- Perform efficient and accurate QC data entry.
- Maintain a clean, contamination-free QC area; participate in cleaning and swabbing activities.
- Coordinate repeat testing when necessary.
- Work closely with QC Supervisor and team members to ensure timely QC result turnaround.
- Maintain and review records as required by the Quality System.
- Train new employees and assist in their onboarding process.
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and perform QC release in Pouch QC Web.
- Perform troubleshooting as required.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Training and Education For Life Science Jobs at BioMérieux :
Associate’s degree or equivalent education in Life Science or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience or related work.
- Experience in a cGMP environment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong mathematical competency and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly collaborative and team-oriented.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of pipettes.
