Life Sciences Job – Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Information Specialist, you will deliver a high-quality, second-line medical information service, ensuring that external healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients receive accurate, timely, and fully compliant scientific responses.

Your core operational, content, and advisory duties will include:

  • Service Delivery & Narrative Control: Providing comprehensive second-line technical and scientific data to external stakeholders to ensure clarity and confidence in the safe use of medicines.
  • Standard Response Generation: Preparing and maintaining local standard response documents for assigned products across Respiratory, Immunology, and Vaccines therapy areas.
  • Digital Portal Management: Creating, updating, and optimizing online medical content for the dedicated AstraZeneca UK (AZUK) HCP and Patient Medical Information portals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering closely with aligned UK medical, field, commercial, and global teams to support external scientific engagement and remove barriers to understanding.
  • Trend & Insight Analysis: Monitoring medical queries to identify emerging information gaps, developing regular data-driven trend reports for internal brand teams, and elevating field team product knowledge.
  • Patient Access Systems: Managing the AZUK Named Patient Supply process to ensure the timely, accurate provision of free-of-charge medicines to patients in need.
  • Governance & Vendor Oversight: Following all relevant procedural codes (such as the ABPI Code of Practice) and GVP requirements, while supporting quality oversight and daily management of the medical information vendor.

Qualifications & Requirements For Life Sciences Job
