Job Description

This medical writer job involves developing and writing high-quality, medically accurate content for assigned accounts. The role requires collaboration with internal teams to ensure that client vision is achieved while maintaining scientific accuracy. The Medical Writer will create a variety of resources such as flashcards, leave-behinds, and internal training materials.

Candidates will support pharmaceutical patient support programs, including patient hubs and financial assistance offerings, tailored for healthcare professionals and patient audiences.

Qualifications

  • BS in life sciences
  • OR BA/BS in English with 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical agency, medical communications company, or healthcare advertising

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of medical writing experience in a pharmaceutical agency, medical communications company, or healthcare advertising

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of American Medical Association (AMA) style
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with PubMed and Google Scholar

Required Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High analytical ability
  • Ability to manage deadline-sensitive projects
  • Team-oriented and detail-focused approach

Preferred

  • Expertise in gathering and summarizing healthcare and scientific literature
  • Knowledge of managed markets and healthcare systems
  • Experience with patient support programs such as patient hubs and financial assistance offerings
  • Managed care experience (HMO, MCO, PBM, etc.)

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $62,500 USD – $93,750 USD
  • Additional benefits include bonus, health insurance, retirement savings, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off

  • Deliver projects within established timelines
  • Conduct literature reviews and develop annotations for promotional claims

  • Work closely with account teams to refine strategic content
  • Communicate medical content with internal teams and pharmaceutical clients
  • Attend medical, legal, and regulatory review meetings
  • Participate in team meetings, including project kick-offs and client discussions
  • Contribute ideas for tactical planning within assigned accounts
  • Follow workplace values and principles of the organization
