Job Title: Associate Scientist
Job Description
The Department of Quantitative Biosciences at our Research Division is seeking an Associate Scientist to join a group of researchers dedicated to the discovery of novel anti-infective drugs and vaccines. The primary responsibilities of the group are to execute in vitro assays to evaluate and characterize antiviral drug and vaccine candidates.
The successful candidate will:
Use lab automation to conduct ELISAs and/or cell culture-based, live virus assays
Properly document and report experimental findings, assay protocols, and instrument programming
Comply with all laboratory safety requirements.
Required experience and skills:
BA/BS in biology, biochemistry, virology, or related discipline
Ability to understand and implement applicable regulations regarding the use of pathogens (e.g. virus, bacteria, fungi), human cells and tissues, laboratory safety, health physics and chemical hazards in research
Strong collaborative skills
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Aseptic tissue culture and tissue culture assays
- Serological assays
- Use of lab automation
