Key Responsibilities
As a Microbiology Analyst (Level 1), you will play a crucial role in conducting microbiological analyses and directly supporting the day-to-day operations of the Mississauga laboratory.
Your daily bench and operational duties will include:
- Microbiological Testing: Perform rigorous microbiological tests for finished products and raw materials. This includes Microbial Limits Testing (MLT), Bioburden, Endotoxin testing, Antibiotic Potency Assays, Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing (AET), Sterility Testing, and Disinfectant Studies.
- Material Preparation: Accurately prepare culture media, reagents, and other essential materials required for daily microbiological testing workflows.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and ongoing functionality.
- Method Development: Assist senior scientists in the development and continuous optimization of microbiological testing methods.
- Data & Documentation: Maintain highly accurate, detailed records of all laboratory activities. Participate directly in data analysis, interpretation of test results, and the preparation of formal reports for internal and external use.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines, actively contributing to the maintenance of a clean, organized workspace.
