Microbiology Job Description
Microbiology job applicants will join the GMP Microbiology team based at the Auckland laboratory in a permanent role. The successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring that sample tests are carried out using the correct methods within agreed time frames. This role provides the advantage of learning on the job while gaining invaluable laboratory experience. This food science job is ideal for candidates who are passionate about microbiology, laboratory quality assurance, and food safety testing.
Qualifications Required
Food science job applicants should possess strong academic qualifications and the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
- Bachelor of Science with a focus on Microbiology or Food Science
- Experience in GMP Testing preferred
- Direct experience in Microbiology is advantageous
- Previous experience in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment is beneficial
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to remain focused during repetitive tasks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management skills
Key Responsibilities – Microbiology Job
Technician job responsibilities in this role include maintaining laboratory quality standards and ensuring accurate testing procedures. Key duties include:
- Completing sample testing within the given turnaround time (TAT)
- Strictly adhering to all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures
- Ensuring all relevant records are kept up to date at all times
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work area
- Participating and contributing to working safely
- Being actively involved in day-to-day improvement activities
- Flexibility to work additional days or overtime as required
- Ability to work a Tuesday to Saturday roster, as the laboratory operates 7 days a week
