Job Details
Under the leadership of Prof. Nick Turner, we are seeking to appoint a Scientific Officer to aid the Breast Cancer Now Research Centre with the receipt, processing, storage, and management of samples, the majority of which will be coming from clinical trials.
Working within the Molecular Oncology laboratory, the successful candidate will contribute to the development and validation of ctDNA assays, clinical NGS, and digital PCR protocols for personalized cancer medicine and in the analysis using complex genetics software and bioinformatics tools. They will assist in the running of a specialized service, testing, and reporting molecular investigations in tumor tissue and ctDNA. Through this role, they will contribute to the delivery of the next generation of biomarker-based clinical studies in breast cancer.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate should possess a degree in molecular biology or genomics or other related subject, with demonstrable knowledge and experience within cancer genetics, including of techniques such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, and dPCR. Experience in ctDNA extraction techniques is desirable. Candidates with experience in Cell Biology techniques including tissue culture and cell assays are encouraged to apply.
