This Mount Sinai research job at the Icahn School of Medicine seeks an outstanding Associate Researcher I to join the Pereira Laboratory, which studies the neurobiology of Alzheimer’s disease using postmortem human tissue and biochemical and analytical techniques. Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility Criteria for Mount Sinai Research Job include:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science or neuroscience, cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field
- No experience required. One year of research experience preferred.
- Highly Preferred Technical Experience: cell culture and general biochemistry laboratory techniques.
- Preferred experience includes subcellular fractionation, flow cytometry, and iPSC or stem cell culture.
- Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to work independently once trained, and comfortable working with human postmortem tissue
Mount Sinai Research Job – Key Responsibilities
- Process and prepare human postmortem tissue for downstream biochemical analysis
- Perform subcellular fractionation and isolation procedures
- Conduct protein aggregation and seeding assays
- Coordinate sample preparation and shipment for outside analytical services
- Perform flow cytometry and analyze resulting data
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and contribute to data analysis and interpretation
- Perform other related duties
