Bioinformatics Intern, Translational Sciences

Position Summary
The Intern, Translational Sciences, with guidance, will assist in developing pipelines for the bioinformatic analysis of multi-omic translational data. This role is based in Santa Monica, CA and reports to a Senior Scientist.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Write code and create pipelines to analyze NGS data.
- Design code for integrating multi-omic clinical data.
- Mine databases to support new project development.
- Document procedures and results meticulously.
- Collaborate internally with scientists.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibilities.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in Phyton and R.
- Strong application of clean code principles.
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based computing environments.
- Basic understanding of NGS data workflow.
- Familiarity with existing bioinformatics tools for data analysis.
- Strong interest in immunology and/or immunotherapy is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable in a fast-paced company environment.
Education and Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related scientific discipline.
