REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
B.S. Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or other related field, preferred
EXPERIENCE
Laboratory and/or significant experience in a food manufacturing environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for accurate, timely, and efficient microbiological analysis of finished product, ingredients, and environmental samples in accordance with Nestle policies and procedures
- Responsible for following Nestlé lab procedures for all analyses, preparation, and other functions. Responsible for reviewing procedures and policies and recommending changes for improvement
- Responsible for assisting the factory Hygienist and the QA Technician
Responsible for Micro result interpretation, data analysis, data input and all associated responsibilities - Responsible for accurate and timely recording of results in SAP and coordinating with the IG Lab and Product Release group to insure minimal delays
- Responsible for notification of non-compliance results to the Manager of Labs, Quality Assurance Manager, and others as instructed
- Responsible for accurate and efficient preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, and quarterly reports as directed by the Manager of Labs, policies, and procedures
- Responsible to coordinate activities with others in the lab to insure timeliness and efficiency in media preparation, equipment sterilization, sample procurement, sample storage, analyses, laboratory sanitation and safety
- Responsible for identifying microbiological trends in environmental, ingredient and finished product tests, locating contamination points, recommending, and establishing corrective action
- Responsible for assisting others in the lab to maintain the necessary supply of equipment, supplies and other inventory to insure operational efficiency
- Responsible for working in a safe manner and maintaining a neat and sanitary lab environment
- Responsible for coordinating the sampling and shipping of samples for nutrient label compliance analysis
- Responsible for maintaining a harmonious working relationship within the Quality Assurance Department and with other Departments
- Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule including weekends and holidays as needed
- Looks for and creates opportunities to develop associate ownership of programs and results
