Job Summary
You will collaborate with colleagues in the national reference laboratories, screening laboratories, and clinical teams to deliver exceptional service. Your role is crucial in connecting laboratory data with clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
- Working with the team to facilitate donors’ return to the donation panel
- Ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Providing specialist advice to service users
- Managing microbiology positive blood products for research and quality control
- Working with quality departments to address recalls, discards, and unusual results
- Mentoring and training Healthcare Scientist staff
About You
Experience and Knowledge:
- Broad science knowledge, especially in virology/microbiology
- Experience with data interpretation and laboratory reports
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Experience in an NHS or pharmaceutical environment
- Compliance with GMP, GLP, and relevant guidelines
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications and Training:
- HCPC registered Clinical Scientist or Biomedical Scientist
- Degree in Biomedical Sciences or Microbiology
- Additional expertise in Microbiology through postgraduate diploma or equivalent experience
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
