Oklahoma Research Technician Job Description
The Ahmad lab in the Department of Cell Biology is seeking to hire a motivated Research Technician to work on projects investigating molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuromodulator receptor trafficking. In this Oklahoma Research Technician role, the successful candidate will provide critical assistance in cell culture work, molecular biology work, and imaging experiments. Some laboratory animal handling may also be involved. Previous experience in molecular biology or cell culture work is desirable but not required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Biological Science, or other health-related field.
- Entry level (no minimum experience stated; 48 months of experience accepted in lieu of a degree).
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts simple research and/or laboratory analysis to include but not limited to measure and weigh compounds and solutions, isolate, identify and prepare specimens, and collect samples and other research data.
- Assist in simple clinical or non-clinical research projects collecting data from patients and/or participates in a study or project.
- Collects various forms of data pertaining to the research project or projects, which could include database information patient consent forms, and/or hard files.
- Interprets and analyzes data and discusses with principal investigator.
- Prepares reports concerning the progress of the project.
- Keeps detailed logs of all research related activities.
