About Erasmus MC
PhD position at Erasmus MC offers an opportunity to work at one of the leading research universities and academic medical centers in the Netherlands. Erasmus MC is internationally recognized for its excellence in biomedical research, healthcare innovation, and education. Through collaborative projects involving multiple research institutes, Erasmus MC enables researchers to work with cutting-edge technologies while addressing real-world medical challenges.
About the Project
PhD position at Erasmus MC is available for the newly launched IMBRAIN Project, which aims to investigate neurodevelopmental deficits in inborn errors of immunity. The project focuses on understanding how the brain and immune system interact and how disorders affecting one system may influence the other.
The IMBRAIN project combines expertise in immunology, neuroscience, and psychology to explore disease mechanisms using both laboratory-based and clinical research approaches. Researchers will study Activated PI3K Delta Syndrome (APDS) as a disease model, building upon previous findings that suggest links between APDS and neurodevelopmental conditions. The successful candidate will conduct molecular and behavioral experiments using mouse models while also participating in patient interviews and clinical assessments. The project provides opportunities to collaborate with experts at Erasmus MC, UMC, and NIN while utilizing state-of-the-art research facilities.
