Summer Intern, Analytical Development-Bioassay

Location: New York

The Summer Intern, Analytical Development-Bioassay will have the primary responsibility to perform bioanalytical and cell-based assays to assist our efforts in production and manufacturing AAV products and advance the development of novel targets for neurodegenerative disorders. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self- motivated, hands-on student with lab experience who has excellent interpersonal skills and who is comfortable working in an open environment spanning multiple functions in a fast-paced work environment.

This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to the growing field of gene therapy and bioprocessing. Through their assistance in executing bioassays, the intern will learn about the technologies and methods used in the area of AAV manufacturing and bioanalytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform bioanalytical methods to support AAV manufacturing, including techniques such as ELISA, ddPCR and mammalian cell culture work
  • Following protocols and troubleshoot when necessary. Analyzing data and assessing the quality
  • Maintaining accurate and complete records consistent with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Assist in lab managing tasks like ordering, labelling and inventory tracking
  • Present to your team on your summer project

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a degree in a scientific discipline, such as biology, chemistry, biomedical sciences, etc.
  • Hands-on lab experience preferred
  • Must be able to commit 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in areas such as campus activities or the community desired
