QC Microbiology Intern Job Description
This QC Microbiology Internship role will be part of the Testing Self-Directed work team in Merck’s state-of-the-art single-use multi-product biotech facility in Dunboyne. The Quality Control Analyst intern will work across various teams to identify and resolve issues, supporting the site’s commitment to quality, environmental health and safety, learning, and continuous improvement.
Eligibility Criteria
- Pursuing a degree qualification in Science/Quality/Technical disciplines.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- An understanding of cGMP requirements for manufacturing and/or systems and compliance.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ability to think logically and be proactive under pressure.
- Flexible and self-motivated.

QC Microbiology Internship – Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of routine Analytical/Microbiology/Biochemistry & Cell Biology testing techniques and associated documentation in compliance with GMP requirements.
- Observe GLP/cGMP at all times.
- Review Analytical Testing data.
- Support activities including general lab readiness, audit readiness, laboratory equipment qualification, and analytical method technical transfer, verification, and validation.
- Participate in inspections, GEMBA’s, and Go-See’s.
- Operate to the highest standards of Safety, Quality, and Compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments for tasks performed and include them in operational SOPs.
- Be part of a motivated and high-performing team.
