Job Description
Under immediate supervision, the Research Assistant I performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory experiments, specimen preparations, and experimental procedures for research purposes. The role involves assisting in the use of specialized laboratory equipment and analyzing data generated by this equipment as an entry-level research assistant role.
Eligibility Criteria for Research Assistant Job
- A bachelor’s degree in a science field, preferably biological sciences (molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, etc.).
- 0-1 years of relevant research experience.
- Experience in a molecular biology lab setting (apart from coursework-related labs at university).
- Ability to efficiently execute molecular biology protocols, multitask, and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in sterile tissue culture, Western blots, DNA extraction, minipreps, gene cloning, and protein purification.
- Some weekends and evenings will be required.
