Research Assistant Jobs: Job Summary

The research assistant will carry out routine laboratory tasks, including maintenance of cell cultures, molecular biology, and biochemical assays. This role will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and research staff with experimental procedures and data collection, as well as general maintenance of laboratory resources and equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • EXPERIMENTS: Duties include maintenance and propagation of mammalian cell cultures, transfection, gene editing, gene cloning, genotyping, Western blotting, mouse breeding, and microscopy.
  • ANALYZE: Analyze results of experiments using manual or computer techniques, summarize findings, and generate figures for publication.
  • ORDER SUPPLIES: Order supplies and stock the lab, photocopy, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • OTHER: Perform other related duties as assigned by the PI.

Research Assistant Jobs: Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field, with research experience.
  • OR an Associate’s degree with a minimum of three years’ experience in a research or clinical area.
