Job Posting: Research Scientist (M/F/D)
The Opportunity
Avantor is looking for a Cell Therapy Scientist to join the team based in Cambridge. In this position, you’ll be supporting cell and gene therapy pre-clinical studies, performing molecular biology experiments, and determining the effects of biotherapeutics on biological systems.
Role Details
This role will be a full-time, temporary position (12-months FTC) based at The Discovery Centre, Bio-Medical Campus in Cambridge. Along with an attractive salary, we offer benefits such as a pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and an additional day off for your birthday.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, core hours.
The Team
You’ll work alongside 4 Cell Therapy Scientists and be part of the Cell & Gene Therapy Safety Sciences Group. The CPSS Group aims to develop innovative science solutions to support oncology patients and eliminate cancer as a fatal disease.
Requirements
Education: A Master’s or PhD Degree in cellular and molecular biology, immunology, toxicology, or a similar field, or relevant lab-based experience.
Experience:
- Theoretical understanding of biology around novel targets and pathways
- Proven experience in laboratory cellular biology techniques
- Experience with Next Generation and long-read Sequencing
- Experience in therapy, viral production, transduction, flow cytometry, and conducting PCR
