Job Description

Scientist job responsibilities in this role involve working within a clinical genomics team to support variant interpretation and reporting. The position requires analyzing complex genetic data and generating accurate clinical reports for both somatic and germline variants.

Qualifications

Scientist job applicants must meet one of the following educational and experience criteria:

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Genetics, Molecular Genetics, or Human Genetics with 1+ years of experience
    OR
  • Master’s degree in relevant fields with 3+ years of variant interpretation experience
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience

Preferred

Scientist job candidates with advanced experience will be prioritized.

  • 3+ years of experience in somatic and germline variant interpretation
  • 2+ years working in a CLIA diagnostic laboratory
  • Experience with CNV, mitochondrial variants, STRs, and pseudogene disambiguation
  • Familiarity with next-generation sequencing technologies
  • Knowledge of advanced copy number detection methods
