Job Title: Scientist – Purification Development
Location: United Kingdom, Slough
Job Description:
Lonza is looking for a Scientist in Purification Development to develop, evaluate, and validate protein purification processes for monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins, supporting their transfer to pilot and GMP scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and design experiments
- Execute projects with a focus on safety, quality, and timeliness
- Collate, analyze and evaluate data
- Operate effectively within a project team
- Prepare presentations, protocols, and reports
Key Requirements:
- BSc/PhD in Biotechnology or relevant scientific discipline
- Theoretical knowledge of protein chemistry and purification
- Strong practical laboratory skills
- Experience with AKTA chromatography and ultrafiltration systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and Unicorn software
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of GLP/GMP
- Experience in process transfer and scale-up
- Experience with process validation
- Operational excellence experience
