Research Intern
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Calibr infectious disease team is seeking a highly motivated undergraduate to integrate into a team environment to support multiple drug discovery programs. Under this part-time role, the ideal candidate will work with other team members to support routine lab responsibilities, the execution of key high-throughput assays, maintain cell culture lines, and assist with additional projects as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Perform general lab duties (including making cell culture media)
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures
- Maintain cell cultures of BSL2 pathogens (e.g. Plasmodium falciparum)
- Assist with high-throughput assays against select BSL2 pathogens
REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in biology, biochemistry, microbiology or a related focus
- 0-3 years laboratory experience
- Letter of recommendation and/or at least one professional reference
