Seattle Children’s Research Technician Job Description
The Seattle Children’s Research Technician I/II will support immunology research by preparing blood and tissues for experiments, designing and conducting immunofluorescence/confocal microscopy and flow cytometry experiments to evaluate immune changes, quantifying HIV/SIV virus in tissues using molecular methods, and maintaining lab records. This role is crucial in facilitating research that aims to enhance understanding of immune responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare blood and tissues for immunology experiments.
- Design and run immunofluorescence/confocal microscopy and flow cytometry experiments to evaluate immune changes.
- Quantify HIV/SIV virus in tissues using molecular methods.

Eligibility Criteria
- Research Technician I: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate science field (or college coursework plus equivalent lab experience).
- Research Technician II: Bachelor’s in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or related field, plus relevant experience.
- Experience working with animal tissues is required.
