Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic clinical laboratory in providing cutting-edge laboratory diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) and other mycobacterial diseases for hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare facilities in Singapore. The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) will be involved in Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) DNA extraction, library preparation, and sequence analysis, providing the scientific and technical expertise necessary to cater to high-quality laboratory services. The MLS will also play a key role in laboratory management, including supplies tracking, work process improvements, and project implementation. Additionally, opportunities for education, training, and development of junior staff and students will be available.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant discipline; or
- Master of Science in a relevant discipline with at least 1 year of relevant work experience; or
- Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, or its equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Possess good interpersonal skills and preferably with prior experience in laboratory management
- Prior experience in molecular work, preferably in WGS DNA extraction, library preparation, and sequence analysis
