The Position

Roche’s GenMark, committed to providing world-class solutions for multiplex testing, is looking for a Sr. Research Associate to join the R&D Assay Technology Development team. The ideal candidate will execute and analyze scientific experiments toward the development and integration of enhancements to existing and future consumables and assay, or the creation of new molecular diagnostic assays on the Roche Cobas® ePlex platform.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Execute and analyze new molecular biology technologies
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or Analytical Chemistry
- 5+ years of relevant laboratory experience post-graduation for B.S.; 3+ years for M.S.
- Demonstrated experience with PCR, molecular biology, and DNA quantification
- Experience in a regulated product development environment preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
- Analytical experience with research data
- Experience with nucleic acid extraction technologies
- Working knowledge of Design Control principles
- Experience with pathogenic bacteria or viruses
Work Environment
The job involves working in a biotechnology laboratory environment. The employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, and automated equipment. Specific vision abilities and physical requirements apply.
Location: Based in Torrey Pines, CA, with potential travel between sites.
Salary Range: $82,700 – $107,500
