Bio-Rad is seeking a Summer Bioinformatic Intern to join our Software Development and Analytics team. As part of this internship, you will work on the development of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) cloud applications. This is an excellent opportunity to be mentored by industry experts and participate in cutting-edge projects in the Digital Biology Group.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Design, code, and test new features for NGS cloud products.
- Collaborate with the Bioinformatics sub-team to develop features and address issues.
- Demonstrate ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Present findings from capstone project to various audiences.
What You Bring:
- Third- or fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud-based computing platforms.
- Proficient in using command-line utilities in a Unix environment.
- Knowledge of Python and/or R programming languages.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with common bioinformatics tools is a plus.
- Understanding of NGS data and workflows is advantageous.
- Experience in building Web Applications is a bonus.
